Music Segregation
A friend of mine asked me was Myola Star music categories intentionally mixed together. I replied in the affirmative. So many years of my life the one thing i feel that hasn't changed was the segregation of music.
I have black friends that listen to the Rolling Stones heavy and i have white friends that listen to M.o.p (hardcore hip-hop). It can be frustrating at times to be constantly categorized musically because of your skin color.
Myola was put together for people to listen to good music. The genre shouldn't matter. Music segregation should be frowned upon because the music that is being played targets specific areas. if you don't believe me drive outside of an urban area and your Hip-Hop & R&B station signal will begin to fade out. This is paramount because what they're playing on these stations promote drugs , sex, and violence and is degrading to women.
Believe it or not Country Music is tantamount to Hip-Hop in a way. It tells a story, it's territorial and blue collar like. Artists tend to vent through music so you can understand where the fans are coming from if you just listen to the music.
When you open your ears you open your mind.

Music HistoryThe James Brown Factor
Despite the media over blowing and focusing on the bad points of the Godfather of soul they should target on his impact on Music. James Brown is one of the most influential artist of the 20th century. Did i mention that he practically birthed Hip-Hop?
A while back i went to a James Brown party that was thrown by the International D.J Spinna in Brooklyn N.Y. I was amazed and astounded. Spinna played all of James Brown songs and every song that had sampled a James Brown song. It felt like i was at a 80's 90's hip hop and R&B throwback party. I loved it. There was so many hip hop songs that had sampled James Brown's music. He was ahead of his time and his music to this day is resurrected through modern tracks across all genres.
The Rolling Stones (one of my favorite groups of all time) lead vocalist Mick Jagger knows the significance of James Brown and executive produced a Documentary on H.B.O called Mr. Dynamite an excellent piece of work. Mick Jagger also executive produced the James Brown Movie 'Get on Up' which is also a great movie but in my opinion it could of showed how political James Brown was in the 60's and 70's . He was proof that you can start from the bottom and make a difference with hard work. Then to top it off he gave back to the community and made them feel proud of who they where and led by example. James Brown transcended through decades and lives on through his music and other artists music as well.
